David Wessels 

David Wessels is an Adjunct Professor of Finance, a Director of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as the Academic Director for Wharton’s CFO Program on Strategic Leadership. David teaches courses on corporate valuation, venture capital, and performance management to undergraduates and MBA’s in Philadelphia and San Francisco, and executive audiences globally.

Professor Wessels has been recognized by his students with the school’s MBA excellence in teaching award, and has been acknowledged nationally for his research on organizational structure and financial performance. His co-authored book, Valuation: Measuring and Managing the Value of Companies, is accepted as the seminal text for students of corporate valuation and investment banking.

Before joining the Wharton School, David served on finance faculty of the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Prior to Emory, he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and a technology analyst for Boston-based Harbourvest Venture Partners. David holds a PhD in finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management, a BS in economics and a BAS in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Paul Aversano 

Paul Aversano is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal and the Global Practice Leader of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group. For over 25 years, he has led both buy-side and sell-side financial and accounting due diligence projects for complex public and private company transactions, as well as transactions in the capital markets. He specializes in assessing quality of earnings and GAAP accounting; providing accounting and transaction structuring advice for leveraged buyouts; purchase accounting; and SEC reporting

In 2015, Mr. Aversano was named “Service Professional of the Year” by The M&A Advisor and was a finalist of The M&A Advisor’s 40 Under 40 Award. He is a regular contributor to FOX Business Network, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, TD Ameritrade Network, and a frequent guest lecturer at industry conferences and universities

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Aversano was a Partner with Ernst & Young in NY and Director of Middle Market Private Equity. Mr. Aversano earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Binghamton University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in NY and a member of American Institute of CPAs, New York State Society of CPAs, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.  In addition, Mr. Aversano was the recipient of the B. Jean Fairbairn Access Award in recognition of his efforts in improving services and access for students with disabilities at Binghamton University.
